As usual, the Rognons ordered different dishes to share and get a full picture. To start: traditional yet polished pâté en croûte from Maison Abel, the Chef’s terrine, and something less expected—a fresh artichoke heart with homemade foie gras. An unusual duo, but a deliciously complementary one.

For the main course, we sampled ris de veau and one of the house’s signature dishes: chicken with morel mushrooms, cream sauce, and pilaf rice. The morels and sauce were not mere extras—they starred in the dish. And the chicken? Cooked to perfection. Not just pre-tender… real deal of tenderness !

A must-have in any Lyonnais meal, the Cervelle de Canut was an absolute hit. Perfectly seasoned, with bold character and texture—it’s one of the best we’ve had in Lyon.

To close out this ode to tradition: green Chartreuse parfait and a chestnut sorbet with warm chocolate sauce—just the right notes to end a beautifully composed meal.
